GOAL:
Ethernet switch compatible with the EN50155 standard, with 2-port trunking over Gigabit Ethernet and microprocessor to provide IP services.

Ethernet switch compatible with the EN50155 standard, with 2-port trunking over Gigabit Ethernet and microprocessor to provide IP services.
GOAL:
To design a card that could control 12 keys with leds, an encoder and 12 segment displays. The control link had to be Ethernet to reduce wiring and eliminate operating system dependencies on the main control computer.
SOLUTION:
We designed a board using an LM3S Cortex M3 from Luminary Micro, now TI. The operating system used was FreeRTOS, and the TCP/IP library was lwIP. The board also had remote firmware update via BOOTP.
